Let's take a look at YTM Beautifier's Live Share & Remote Control features.

When you use these features, your computer sends over some more information to our server.

What is transmitted:

  • The current song's title
  • The current song's album
  • The current song's artist
  • How far through the current song you are
  • Any settings you may have specified for your Live Share
  • Whether the song is paused or playing

    • Why it's transmitted:

    We need these things to sync up the other devices you may connect to your main computer. Your various devices are identified by a unique identifier that is created by the server. The identifier only exists during your Live Session, and is deleted immediately afterwards. You get a different identifier each time you connect, so there is no way of tracking how much one individual person uses the service.

    Is my data stored anywhere?

    Not permanently. We store the above data during the duration of your Live Share, and it is all deleted when you disconnect.
